Fourth grade grading policy
Assignment Expectations:
Assignments are to be completed when assigned by the teacher. If an assignment must be taken home to finish, or homework is given, the assignment will be due at the time the teacher has designated. If assignments are not returned on the expected dates, students will receive a signing on their blue planner sheet. The student will also receive signing on their blue planner sheet. The student will receive a point deduction on the assignment. The highest grade attainable for late assignments will go as follows...
One Day Late=85 (minus 15 points)
Two Days Late=70 (minus 30 points)
Three + Days Late=50 (minus 50 points)
A "M" will be placed in the grade book when an assignment is late. The "M" will change to a zero if not turned in. Students will have 1 calendar week to get any late work turned in. For instance, if an assignment is due Thursday and it is not turned in by the following Thursday, it will not be accepted.
Late Work:
We understand that periodically students will become sick, have doctor's appointments, or need to miss class for one reason or another. If a student misses class, all assignments that were assigned previously, will be due the day the student returns. If a student is absent when a new assignment is assigned, then the student will need to see the teacher the day they return to school to collect the assignments and get the due date. Students have one day for each day they are absent plus one to complete the new assignments.
Cheating Policy:
As per the ACA Student Code of Conduct, if students are found cheating, the teacher may assign a zero for the assignment in question (p.9 Class II Disciplinary Consequences)
